by Yi-Hsuan Cheng

Professor Chang, Hsuan-Hsuan, Department of Leisure and Recreation Management, Ming Chuan University, was invited to participate in the “World Tourism Day” organized by the World Tourism Organization on September 27, 2021 through the community platform. The theme was “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”, which was celebrated in Malaysia this year.

During the online roundtable discussion, Professor Chang shared her views on inclusive growth in the tourism industry from Taiwan’s perspective, especially mentioning the tourism crisis, which is becoming a new normal. Tourism should work closely with different sectors, provide equitable opportunities for tourism stakeholders and continue to develop inclusive growth. Moreover, tourism can promote the participation of individuals and groups in the process of improving social conditions to enhance the ability of marginalized groups to participate in the economy.
