by Lisa Lin The TaiwanICDF and MCU cooperated for the third time in the “International Development Cooperation Student Paper Completion”. At the conference held on May 23rd, only 13 teams were awarded prizes and one of them was a group of two MCU students who won first place in Bachelor’s group Business and Management. The winning MCU group was comprised of Gabriela Valdes and Adriana Escalante, advised by Assistant Professor Dr. Chen Ho. The conference opening was co-hosted by Dr. Pai-Po Lee, Deputy Secretary General of the TaiwanICDF, and Dr. Chuan Lee, President of MCU. Together, they welcomed all guests and stressed the competition’s great potential to raise Taiwan’s international development and foster cross-national projects. Having passed Phase1 “Proposal Review” and Phase 2 “Paper Review”, 25 final teams (22 for master’s and doctoral group, 3 for bachelor’s group) presented at the conference. The 25 final presentations were arranged into 5 groups, according to the paper themes: Agriculture and Fishery, Business and Management, Engineering and Science, Public Health and Medicine and Others. Each team had 30 minutes to present papers to the juries, including 10 minutes of Q&A. It was a fruitful conference with meaningful results; MCU is very proud to organize such an event.
