Final Examinations Next Week Finals exams will be held next week (6/11-6/15). Students are reminded to double check their exam schedules and print them out to avoid last minute confusion (i.e. running to the wrong exam rooms). In addition, make sure that cell phones are turned off before entering the exam room. After 15 minutes of exam starting time, students will not be allowed to enter the exam room. Also, students may only exit the exam room from 20 minutes after exam starting time. So, be punctual and carry your student ID card at all times! Dragon Boat Festival Celebration The Dragon Boat Festival is coming soon! The Office of International Student Service would like our international students to get a “taste” of this festival. The office will be holding an activity to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival on Wednesday (6/6) at noon in the Multipurpose Theater in E202 on Taipei campus and at the Office of International Student Service in Q Building on Taoyuan campus. On the day of the event, sticky rice dumplings (Zong-Zi) and drinks will be served. Also, a short film will be shown on the origin and the story behind this holiday. National Science Council Research Subsidy On 5/29, the National Science Council announced that the research subsidy granted to MCU faculty for the academic year of 2012-2013 ranked top two in the nation. MCU is the top private university in terms of research subsidy awards, with 84 research proposals approved. MCU’s academic professionalism and excellence are once again recognized. Library Summer Hours and iRead Prize Draw All library books checked out on 6/11 and afterwards must be returned by 9/21 (week 2 of the Fall 2012 semester). The Library will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during July and August and it will be closed on weekends. Please note that the library will also be closed from 7/26 to 8/5 and on 8/20 for summer administration recess. Don’t forget that the iRead prize draw will be held this Wednesday on 6/6 at 12:30 p.m. in the Library on both campuses. The grand prize is a 7-inch ebook reader or an iPad Shuffle 2G.
