Editor/Veronica.輯/馬家慧 Taoyuan Visitor Information Center Taoyuan County Government Tourism Promotion Bureau and MCU Leisure and Recreation Administration Department collaboratively planned and established a visitor information center in Taoyuan Train Station. The center began its operation on 5/1 and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Every day, two or three MCU Tourism majors and International College students will serve as volunteer guides in the center. Moreover, travel information pamphlets and interactive computer presentations on local transportation, lodging, special holiday events, package tours are available. Graduating Senior Exams Next Week Graduating seniors have already had their once-in-a-lifetime graduation dinner party. Now, the graduating senior exams are coming up next week from 5/14 to 5/18. Those who are unable to take the exams as scheduled must provide relevant official documents or doctor’s diagnosis in order to apply for leave by the end of the exam day. Make-up exams will be scheduled from 5/23 to 5/25. In addition, the graduation ceremony will take place on 6/2 (Saturday) on Taoyuan campus and on 6/3 (Sunday) on Taipei campus. Don’t miss out this great chance to invite your family and friends to celebrate and acknowledge your achievement! Mother’s Day Celebration Activities 1) Sending Mother’s Day greetings (Taoyuan campus only): starting on 5/7 until 5/9 from 10am to 3:40pm, stop by the Ming Pavilion and free cards will be provided and sent for you. 2) Making calls on Mother’s Day loveline (both campuses): students may use the telephone lines sponsored by Chunghwa Telecom to call their mothers. The phone service will be provided on 5/10 and 5/11 from 10am to 4pm at the Hi-Life convenience store plaza on Taipei campus. On Taoyuan campus, it will be provided on 5/9 and 5/10 from 10am to 4:40pm on the third floor of the Physical Education Building. 3) Photography contest (Taoyuan campus only) on the theme of filial respect and affection. 2012 Chinese Culture Research and Study Camp The annual Chinese Culture Research and Study Camp organized by the Student Affairs Division is recruiting for interested participants again for this summer’s trip to Shanghai. The trip will take place from 6/22 to 6/30 and participants are scheduled to visit the Tongji University in Shanghai. It will be a 9-day trip of cultural research and study visits to museums and other famous cultural sites in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou.
