MCU Ranked 755 in the “Webometrics Ranking of World University” The Center for Scientific Information and Documentation in Spain conducted a “Webometrics Ranking of World University” research and announced the results this January. According to the results, Ming Chuan University has been ranked 755 in the world and 27 in Taiwan. Currently, MCU’s website features four different versions with four different languages: Mandarin, English, Japanese and Korean. The Information and Network Division is now working on the fifth version, simplified Chinese. Promoting a Smoke-Free Campus In order to create and promote a complete smoke-free campus, regulations regarding smoking on campus will be strictly imposed. Smokers are reminded to smoke in the designated smoking areas and littering of cigarette buds is prohibited. Violators will be given a demerit or will have to fulfill 24 hours of public service. MCU Ranked Top 100 Design University The International Forum Design Hannover Awards is equivalent to the Oscars of the design industry. This year, a junior student from the Product Design Department, Pai Yun, is awarded among the top 100 best product design. In addition, Ming Chuan is selected as one of the top 100 design institutions in the world. Midterm Exams Rescheduled According to the proposal made by the General Secretary’s Division, the midterm exams is rescheduled a week earlier from week 10 to week 9 this semester. The university has already approved the proposal during the administration meeting. Therefore, all faculty and students are reminded that the midterm exams is rescheduled a week ahead from 4/11 to 4/15.
