Translated by Teng-Seng-Lu Taiwan Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission visited both Taoyuan and Taipei campuses on May 14th to review MCU students who are enrolled in Overseas Chinese Youth Skills Training courses. These courses include Mass Communication, Digital Media Design and Baking and Hospitality Management. The honored guests were appraised of the results of the training courses and students’ learning conditions. MCU Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Robert S.P Yien, hosted the welcome meeting in B901 on Taipei campus and gave a brief report about the three training courses taught at MCU. In order to encourage overseas Chinese youths to learn various working skills in Taiwan, several well-equipped universities are commissioned by Taiwan Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission to conduct the Overseas Chinese Youth Skills Training courses. Since 2005, there have been four cohorts of students, a total of 222 people, graduated from the training courses at MCU. The majority of students enrolled in the courses are from Malaysia, while some are from Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Brazil and United States of America.
