MCU Campus Power Outage Causes Elevator Entrapment – Campus Security Center Responds Immediately and Provides Full Support

On the evening of October 22, a large-scale power outage occurred in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, which affected the Taoyuan Campus. During the outage, two students were temporarily trapped in an elevator. Upon receiving the report, the Campus Security Report Center immediately activated the standard elevator malfunction response protocol. Security personnel, together with colleagues from the General Affairs Division, promptly arrived on site to provide assistance and reassurance. The students were safely rescued within a short period and sustained no injuries.

MCU reminds all faculty, staff, and students that all campus elevators are equipped with emergency communication systems and safety protection devices. In the event of an elevator malfunction or power outage, please remain calm and do not attempt to force open the doors or exit on your own.
