by Teng-Seng Lu This semester’s Artist-in-Residence Program launched by the General Education Center started last week, with plenty of activities to be held in the following weeks. The four famous groups invited as MCU resident artists this year are I wan Jan Puppet Theater, Jade & Artists Dance Troupe, Acme Physical Dance Theater and Greenray Theater. On Taipei campus, I wan Jan Puppet Theater will hold two seminars regarding the art of traditional puppet show today at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm respectively in Taipei conference room. The Theater will also perform a traditional puppet show on March 30 at 12:00 noon in front of the Hi-Life store. Later, at 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, there’s a seminar in Taipei Large Conference Room to introduce the development of Taiwan traditional puppet shows. Meanwhile, Jade & Artists Dance Troupe will perform their latest work in Taipei Sun Yat Sen Auditorium from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on March 31. The troupe will also hold a seminar regarding the relationship between dancing and living in the Taipei Large Conference Room from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on April 13. The Greenray Theater will hold two dramatic acting teaching sessions on Taoyuan campus for those who are interested in acting. The sessions will be held at 10:00 am (EE702) and 1:00 pm (P003) on March 25. On March 30, Acme Physical Dance Theater will hold two dancing teaching sessions at 10:00 am and 12:00, respectively, in classroom P006 on Taoyuan campus. Besides, there are also two yoga teaching sessions to be held on April 20 at 12:00 noon and 2:50 pm, respectively, in P006.
