Voices for Change: MCU’s SDGs Presentation Contest 2025

Organized by the English Language Centre, the SDGs Presentation Contest 2025, held last Friday, was a huge success. The event brought together passionate students from various disciplines, offering a platform for them to engage deeply with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and share their visions for a better world.

After a competitive preliminary round, 15 finalists were shortlisted to take the stage on May 2nd, presenting creative, thoughtful, and impactful ideas addressing pressing global issues such as climate change, quality education, sustainable consumption, and reduced inequalities. Each participant demonstrated not only strong English presentation skills but also a clear commitment to creating positive change in society. Their creativity and dedication have impressed everyone.

The contest aimed to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and a deeper understanding of global challenges among students. In addition to the competition, the ELC also organized a series of workshops this year focusing on food and sustainability. Teachers and students gathered to share vegetarian lunch boxes while participating in seminars discussing how our food choices can impact the planet- and how plant-based diets could offer a sustainable alternative for the future.

As the contest concluded and winners were celebrated, one clear message resonated throughout: every idea matters, and every little action counts. The English Language Centre hopes to continue empowering students to use their voices and creativity to address global issues and inspire real change.

We look forward to seeing even brighter ideas and more passionate participants next year!
