【922Enews】Welcome to join MC Weekly-Never Stop Learning

Never Stop Learning by Vickey Hsu What can you as an international student or local student do while you study for four years at Ming Chuan University? I’m a fourth year student studying in Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC). During these four years, I’ve participated in numerous on-campus and out of school activities. But one of the unforgettable memories I must note was to be an English journalist for MC Weekly. Studying in JMC, earning related experience is crucial. Even if you don’t study journalism, good English proficiency will allow you become an English journalist at Ming Chuan. Since my freshman year, I helped MC Weekly by writing news for international students to read. I learned some techniques and the essence of news writing. I also translated Chinese news into English. It’s always good to practice, and to practice news writing while I’m still in school is definitely a good opportunity for me to grow. Making mistakes now is better than making mistakes after I enter the real job market. Not to mention that it always feels good to see your article being published in the school newspaper. To have fun and to learn from the things you are participating in is a very important thing. I really recommend any of you out there who have an interest in English news writing or just simply in writing to join the MC Weekly family. Getting hands on experience while you are still in school will prepare you better and make you more adaptable for the big world out there when you graduate. Finally, in this last piece of my four years in writing for MC Weekly, I will share a quote with you all, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
