by Bruce Chung The Taiwan ICDF and MCU cooperated for the fourth time in the International Development Cooperation Student Paper Competition. At the conference held on May 14th, 19 teams were awarded prizes and two of them were MCU students. First, Nguyen Cam Thi won the first place in Bachelor’s group Business and Management, advised by Dr. Yan-Ming Hsu, Assistant Professor. The other winner is Deja John who won the outstanding in Bachelor’s group Other theme, advised by Dr. Huei-Sheng Tu, Assistant Professor. The conference opening was co-hosted by Dr. Pai-Po Lee, Deputy Secretary General of the Taiwan ICDF, and Dr. Chuan Lee, President of MCU. Together, they welcomed all guests and stressed the competition’s great potential to raise Taiwan’s international development and foster cross-border projects. Having passed Phase one “Proposal Review” and Phase two “Paper Review”, 23 final teams (14 for master’s and doctoral group, 9 for bachelor’s group) presented at the conference. The 23 final presentations were arranged into 5 groups, according to the paper themes: Agriculture and Fisheries, Business and Management, Engineering and Science, Public Health and Medicine and Others. Each team had 30 minutes to present papers to the juries, including 10 minutes of Q&A. It was a fruitful conference with meaningful results; MCU is very proud to organize such an event.
