International Students Invited to Experience Taiwan’s Moon Festival Culture on Sept. 23

Under the same full moon, students from around the world can share the warmth of a traditional Taiwanese festival. To give international students an opportunity to experience local culture and celebrate the Moon Festival at MCU, the Section of International Student Service (SISS), International Education and Exchange Division, will host “Happy Moon Festival” simultaneously on Taipei and Taoyuan campuses at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 23. Mooncakes and drinks will be provided, inviting international students to experience the festive atmosphere and learn more about Taiwan’s Moon Festival traditions.

The Moon Festival is an important traditional festival in Taiwan, with moon-viewing and eating mooncakes among its most familiar customs. Through this campus event, international students can experience the festival through its traditional flavors while gaining a better understanding of local customs and culture. The event will take place in E402 on Taipei Campus and FFB101 on Taoyuan Campus. Mooncakes and drinks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, so international students are encouraged to arrive early.

Studying abroad is not only an academic journey, but also an opportunity to experience different cultures and connect with the local community. Through “Happy Moon Festival,” SISS hopes to introduce international students to Taiwan’s Moon Festival traditions and share the warmth of the celebration through mooncakes and drinks. International students are invited to join the event on September 23, experience the flavors and traditions of the Moon Festival, and create a special cultural memory during their time at MCU.
