Shares Journey from Intern to Entrepreneur with Camila – CEO of TUTEEMI
By Lisa Nguyen
“When you’re a student, every opportunity matters — even the smallest one,” Camila said.
MCU International Business and Trade Program hosted a lecture on October 30 in classroom B401 at the Taipei Campus, welcoming Ms. Camila — a successful entrepreneur and former MCU Journalism & Mass Communication Program student — as a guest speaker in the Human Resource Management class. Having previously taught at Ming Chuan University’s Taipei and Taoyuan campuses, Camila returned to share her journey from being a student to becoming the founder of an international education company. She also offered students practical advice on CV writing, networking, and personal branding.

From Internship to Entrepreneurship
Camila began her talk by recounting her personal journey — from being an enthusiastic student and intern to becoming the founder of an international education startup. During her time at MCU, she explored various opportunities that allowed her to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
After completing her studies, she launched her own business in the education technology field, combining her passion for languages and teaching. Her story demonstrated how curiosity, openness, and courage can lead to unexpected achievements.
She shared, “The people you meet during your internships or projects might become your future partners or clients.”

Writing a CV that Stands Out
Drawing from her own experiences, Camila explained how building meaningful connections can open unexpected doors in one’s career. She guided students through a CV-building activity, encouraging them to express their individuality through both design and content. She emphasized that an effective CV should be clear, visually appealing, and reflective of one’s personality—not just a list of experiences.
She reviewed several students’ creative CVs, noting the importance of neat layout, organization, and the small personal touches that make an application memorable.
“Your CV is your story on paper,” Camila said. “It should make people want to meet you, not just read about you.”

The Power of Networking
Camila also shared how genuine connections shaped her own success. From meeting a friend at a birthday party—which unexpectedly led to a high-paying translation job in Paris—to connecting with global executives from Google, Microsoft, and major Taiwanese corporations, her experiences highlighted the importance of staying connected.
She emphasized that following up after meeting someone is essential; even a short, thoughtful email can make a lasting impression. Her polite and creative follow-ups later turned into valuable business relationships, with both Google and Microsoft executives becoming long-term clients of her tutoring company.
She also encouraged students to make use of online platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram to expand their professional networks.
“You never know who will open the next door for you,” she reminded the class. “So always be kind, curious, and proactive.”
Throughout the session, Camila inspired the students with her stories and reminded them that professional growth is not only about skills, but also about attitude, curiosity, and kindness.
“You never know who might open the next door for you,” Camila said. “So always be kind to everyone you meet.”
