by Carine Yang To further promote its International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) and Teaching Chinese as Second Language (TCSL) graduate programs among local universities, American Ming Chuan University (AMCU) in Michigan hosted a dinner party for Chinese students from Saginaw Valley State University and Michigan State University. This event was highlighted by a basketball friendship game between SVSU and MSU. Organized by Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) of SVSU, the basketball game drew a large crowd at the Cardinal Gym on November 17, including President Eric Gilbertson of SVSU. As an alumnus of MSU himself, Dr. Robert Yien, the MCU Vice President for Administrative Affairs, is pleased to see the bond formed between the two universities. “It is important to get to know more about the Chinese students from local universities,” said Dr. Robert Yien. “We are broadening our reach to more local students,” adds Yien. The graduate programs were also promoted outside the game itself, as promotional brochures passed out during the dinner party. “There are over 600 Chinese students in MSU. I believe that many students will be interested in these programs
