International Student Scholarships Applications for international student scholarships are being processed online starting from this academic year; therefore, qualified and interested international students should apply online. Please note that the deadline to apply for the Scholarship for Foreign Students is 3/13 and for the Scholarship for Southeast Asia Students is 3/9. Malaysian Student Association Established On 12/30, the MCU Malaysian Student Association was officially established and a ceremony was held on the same day. There are approximately 500 Malaysian students currently enrolled at MCU, of which 350 students are based on Taoyuan campus. Most of the Malaysian students are enrolled in the Overseas Chinese class sections. In addition, Malaysian students have always been the group of foreign students with the highest enrollment at MCU. Study Abroad Application Starts Now (from IEE) The MCU Study Abroad Program can fulfill your dream of studying abroad. Application for the Fall 2012 semester starts now and ends on 3/15 (Thursday). MCU’s sister school, The University of the West of England (http://www.uwe.ac.uk/) in Bristol, U.K., is providing two 50% tuition scholarships for 3+1 undergraduate dual-degree applicants (approx. 5,000 scholarship per person). A recruitment seminar will be held at noon on 3/1 (Thursday) in B901 on Taipei campus. For more information, please go to IEE’s website at http://iee.mcu.edu.tw/, and click on “Overseas Study Abroad Programs”. “Be My Guest in My Country” “Be My Guest in My Country” video clips have been made by MCU international students in which culture, customs, taboos, etiquettes are presented. So far, filming and recording have been completed for 19 countries. Moreover, two model clips (on France and Belize) have already been produced to demonstrate the final product for those who are interested. These clips are available online on YouTube. There are a total of 35 students recognized for this honor. An international student from Panama, Juan Montero, was the only foreign student awarded this year.
