Congratulations! After long hours of practice 4th-year student, Peggy Li, in the Department of Applied English won the championship in the National Speech Contest held at Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages. A MCU student also won the first prize last year. On October 31st, four students from the Department of Applied English, including Liu Chen-gxin, Liao Ben-chun, Yang Kai-qing and Chen Wen-shan, won third prize in the English poetry recitation contest. Faculty member Dr. Joseph Meyers served as their advisor. The poem they recited is called Porphyria’s Lover, a famous piece by British poet, Robert Browning. They will recite this poem during the Literary Prize Awards Ceremony on December 28th. Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy their winning performance.
