MCU Launches Micro-Credit Course with Blueseeds Linking Sustainable Farming and Global Internships

Ming Chuan University (MCU) will collaborate with Blueseeds, a social enterprise founded by alumna Stephanie Chan, to launch the English-taught micro-credit course Social Innovation & Brand Marketing in the Spring Semester of the 2026 academic year.

Designed as a practice-oriented program, the course integrates brand marketing, sustainable management, and international internship opportunities into a single learning experience. Students will explore how social enterprises combine eco-friendly agriculture with the fragrance industry, stepping directly into real-world industry practices and gaining cross-regional exposure from Taitung to Phoenix, Arizona.

Led by Blueseeds’ senior management team, the course adopts a problem-based learning approach. Students will analyze real business cases while examining key topics such as social innovation, brand positioning, global marketing strategies, as well as ESG and SDGs. A full-day field trip to Blueseeds’ herb plantation in Taitung is also arranged, allowing students to gain firsthand insight into the company’s “farm-to-bottle” sustainable operation model and its integration of natural farming and high-tech supply chain management.

According to the course design, students will complete team-based projects and deliver a final presentation. Outstanding teams may receive prizes of up to NT$30,000. In addition, two internship positions in Phoenix, Arizona, and four domestic internship opportunities in Taiwan will be offered, creating valuable career pathways for students interested in global branding and sustainable industries.

The 18-hour micro-credit course is limited to 30 students and is open to MCU juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Enrollment is open until March 13, and students may register through the International College Office. An information session will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, at the E301 Conference Room, Taipei Campus. Interested students are encouraged to attend.
