Translated by Teng-Seng Lu A total of 13 people including 3 faculty members, Dr. Lin Jyh-Jong, Dr. Chang Tsair-Yuan, Dr. Hsu Chang-Ling and 10 graduate students of MCU’s Department of Information Management have passed the Enterprise Architect Certification Exam held by the Open Group of the United States of America. They have, respectively, become TOGAF Certified Enterprise Architects and TOGAF Certified Associate Enterprise Architects. In recent years, The Open Group has developed complete TOGAF enterprise architecture standards to help the enterprises in establishing their complete architecture contents based on TOGAF standards. Currently the TOGAF standards are being used by many international enterprises such as HP, SAP, ING, SUN, NEC and so forth. Thus, foreign as well as domestic, enterprises need many professionals with TOGAF-related knowledge in future years. These teachers and graduate students of the Department of Information Management are the first Taiwanese group obtaining TOGAF certification. In the future, the department will cooperate with the Open Group and continue to play its role in promoting understanding among local industry and academia about TOGAF. Meanwhile, various computer and intranet systems are used widely nowadays to improve working efficiency. However, the information system is facing different risks each day due to natural disasters or human causes. Therefore, thirteen members of MCU’s Information and Network Division have just recently become certified lead auditors of ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS). With the complete standard verification of ISO 27001, MCU is able to reduce information security risks using systematic control measures.
