by Emily Wang During the past two years, seven students went to practice Chinese teaching in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. At the end of March this year, three students from MCU’s Teacher Education Center and Department of Teaching Chinese as Second Language went to Pennsylvania and New York states to practice teaching Chinese. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs New York Economic and Cultural Office selected the practical Chinese teachers on March 10th, two students from the Applied English department went to the Sharpsville School District in Pennsylvania and one student from Teaching Chinese as Second Language department went to New York state from March 31 to May 1. During their practice, they will observe the classroom, assist in teaching activities and lead the oral discussion after class. Teachers there will grade their performance based on MCU practice teaching regulations.
