A New High in Freshmen Enrollment Rate According to the statistics from the Academic Affairs Division, 3,903 students were accepted for matriculation in undergraduate studies approved by the Ministry of Education. So far (as of 9/12), 3,797 students have completed registration procedures. Thus, this year’s enrollment rate has reached 97.28%, an increase of 0.41% from last year’s 96.87%. This increase demonstrates that the quality of MCU’s education and effort in internationalization are acknowledged by parents and high school students. Donating Goods for the “Honor Shop” The Student Affairs Division has established the “Honor Shop” for almost 2 years now. The shop features donated goods and small creative goods, similar to a flea market. The Division would like to ask all faculty, staff and students to donate old books and other goods (Please remember to price the items.) and deliver them to the Student Advising Section on Taipei campus, Ms. Chiu (ext. 2238), or to the Taoyuan Student Affairs Section, Ms. Liu (ext. 3181). New Member Recruitment for MCU Student Organizations This week (9/17-9/21 at noon), all MCU student clubs are hosting joint events to recruit new members on both campuses. New member recruitment fairs will be held at the plaza in front of Hi-Life Convenient Store on Taipei campus and in the Ming Yuan Pavilion on Taoyuan campus, where booths are set up and live performances will be featured to attract and recruit new club members. In addition, “Student Clubs Night” will be held on Thursday (9/20) at 6 p.m. in the Sun Yat Sen Auditorium on Taipei campus. On Taoyuan campus, an evening party will be held on Wednesday (9/19) at 6:30 p.m. in the Ming Yuan Pavilion. Ming Chuan Library Weekly Film Show Starting from this week, the Library on Taipei campus will be showing films every Friday at 12:20 p.m. in the Multi-Media Lab on the 3rd floor of the Library. Please check out the posted program of films; any changes to the program will be announced on-site. Please note that no food and drinks are allowed inside the Library, aside from water.
