MCU Awarded with IEET Accreditation The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan recently announced the results of IEET accreditation for the 2011-2012 academic year. A total of 59 institutions and 191 departments sought accreditation or re-accreditation. The following MCU departments have had their IEET accreditation renewed based on the documentation provided and the on-site visit: Bachelor’s degree program of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs of the Electronic Engineering Department, Bachelor’s degree program of the Information and Telecommunications Engineering Department. A New Look for MCU Student Identification Card Get involved in giving our MCU student ID card a new look! The MCU student ID card design contest is soliciting new designs for our university’s student ID card. Work submitted must include a 2.5 cm x 3.5cm-sized head shot photograph, student name, ID number, department, and a bar code. Please also remember to take into consideration the space for foreign students’ English names. The top 3 designs will receive cash prizes of NT$5000, NT$3000 and NT$2000, respectively. Submission period ends on 5/31.Get your creative juices flowing! MCU Excels in the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games MCU student athletes had an outstanding performance in this year’s National Intercollegiate Athletic Games. Our athletes came home with 3 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals for the individual games. Final Round for Ms. and Mr. International The final round of Mr. and Ms. International Selection will be held this Wednesday (5/16) from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Sun Yat Sen Auditorium on Taipei campus. The contest is divided into 5 stages: self-introduction, country representation, fashion show, talent show and a brief Q & A session. Free drinks and refreshments will be served to the audience. Cast your vote for to predict the winner by 8pm with your student ID card and you’ll be eligible for a prize draw of NT$3000, a watch, Tasty Steak House dining voucher or free movie tickets. End-of-Year Student Club Showcase The annual end-of-year student club showcase will take place on 5/16 from 9am to 3pm in the Sun Yat Sen Auditorium on Taipei campus and on 5/18 from 10am to 3pm in the Physical Education Building on Taoyuan campus. All clubs must set up their tables by 9am and assign one or two representatives for each table.
