With Mainland China student recruitment developing energetically, MCU has experienced a great increase in exchanges with Mainland China universities. In mid-April, President Lee led Secretary General – Dr. Fan, Chuan-Yuan, Dean of School of Social Sciences – Dr. Huang, Chien-Sen, Chair of Security Management and Social Work Department – Dr. Chang, Ping-Wu, and Invited Professor – Dr. Tsai, Te-Hui to visit Yunnan University, where he signed an academic cooperation exchange agreement. President He, Tianchun of Yunnan University especially conferred a letter of appointment as visiting professor to Dr. Lee so as to open up new prospects for both institutions. Yunnan University, one of the key universities under western Mainland China development and the only key national university in Yunnan Province under “211 Project”, was established in 1922. It has developed into a comprehensive university with nearly 50000 students, 3000 employees, and 1631 full-time faculty members. It was listed in Concise Encyclopedia Britannica as one of the fifteen most prestigious universities in Mainland China.
