■Final Examinations Next Week The final examinations will be held next week from 1/2 to 1/6. Any absence due to emergency or special leave requests must be filed within two days of when the exam took place. Moreover, students who need to take make-up final exams must file an online application on the same day that the exam was held and turn in official paperwork or doctor’s diagnosis to the Student Advising Section on Taipei campus or to the Taoyuan Student Affairs Sections. Students are reminded that cell phones should be turned off before entering the exam room. Also, everyone must carry their student identification cards at all times and be punctual! ■Undergraduate Studies on Kinmen Campus On 12/15, MCU officially received approval from the Ministry of Education for the establishment of undergraduate study programs on Kinmen campus. Starting from the academic year of 2011-2012, MCU will be recruiting primarily mainland Chinese students for these undergraduate programs in the School of Communications and the School of Tourism. Students who are currently enrolled in these two schools on Taipei and Taoyuan campuses will not be transferred to Kinmen campus. ■Chinese New Year Dinner Party for International Students The Office of International Student Service will be hosting a dinner party in celebration of Chinese New Year on 1/6 (Friday) at 6 p.m. at the Chientan Youth Activity Center in Taipei. Many fun activities are arranged on the day of the dinner. Students will enjoy a buffet dinner followed by a singing performance by Juan Montero, a MCU international student from Panama. Story telling about the origin of Chinese New Year will also be presented. Last but not least, there will be a grand prize draw to end the fun evening!
