■MSCHE Visits Ming Chuan The committee members of the MSCHE (Middle States Commission on Higher Education) will be visiting Ming Chuan this Saturday (9/25) for the self-assessment site visit which is the final stage of accreditation. This 8-day visit would be the final stage of the accreditation process which would lead MCU in becoming the first institution in Asia for being accredited by MSCHE. ■Strive for Excellence Project One of the aims of the Strive for Excellence Project is to provide a pleasant digital learning environment for MCU faculty and students. The F614 language lab on Taipei campus and the CC202 lab on Taoyuan campus were renovated and remodeled into Digital Self-Study Labs over the summer. The renovation for the lab on Taipei campus is complete and is not in use. The lab on Taoyuan campus is still under construction and is almost ready for use. ■Library Study Area Expansion In order to improve the atmosphere of the study environment for both faculty and students, the Library on Taoyuan campus has added about 200 study carrels of five-star quality in the study area on the 4th floor. Hopefully, this comfy and cozy place would become your second home. ■Teachers’ Day Celebration The Student Affairs Division and the National Flower “Plum Blossom” Club is holding a Teachers’ Day activity for MCU students to express their appreciation and thanks to the teachers for their hard work.
