by Kenton X. Chance MCU was the site of a cultural extravaganza for three days in March as the International College staged an international cultural fair on the Taipei campus. The event was held to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the cultures and cuisines represented at the University. During the three days, students modelled outfits worn traditionally in some countries and regions across the world, including Africa, the Pacific, Asia, North and Central America, and Europe. Students also used the opportunity to display their talents in singing, playing musical instruments, beatboxing, and martial arts. Some prepared dishes from their home nations and offered them for sale, while Caribbean students braided other students’ hair. Among the visitors to the bazaar-like event were MCU Vice President Dr. Yien, Dean of IC Dr. Ellen Chen and Director of the Communications program Prof. Walter Wang.
