【943】MCUMI Presents Taiwan Indigenous Peoples’ Culture at SVSU

Intercultural Night at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) was celebrated for the 15th year on February 26 at 7 p.m. in the Rhea Miler Recital Hall. With the primary goal of promoting cultural diversity, cultural understanding and harmony among students on campus, this event brings international students from different nations together to show their respective culture and ethnic backgrounds. The night featured a variety of cultural performances presented by students from Japan, Brazil, India, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Greater China and more. This year, students from mainland China and Taiwan organized a series of performances in which students wearing traditional Han costumes represented Chinese culture. Dressed in DIY indigenous peoples’ costumes, a group of eight MCU-MI students also took the stage to sing and dance along with an aboriginal Taiwanese pop song ‘Once I Think of You’. With over 300 people gathered for the night, the night ended with all participants singing on the stage in a harmonious environment.
