by Yi Ting Tso The 1st Malaysian Student Singing Competition was held at Eslite Songyan Auditorium on May 3rd. Liou Wan-yin, a MCU student in International Business Department from Penang, Malaysia, took top honors among the 50 competitors by singing a Taiwanese song called The Sound of Falling Rain. The singing competition was held by Malaysia Student Association in Taiwan and Malaysia Creative Culture Association, with Nanyang Business Daily as the collaborating media firm. Liou Wan-yin received high praises from the judges for her beautiful voice, vocal skills and presentation during the final round. When informed about receiving the first place award, Liou was quite excited. In the 2008 International Taiwanese Song Creative Singing Competition, she was awarded first place for singing the same song. She commented that she is really thankful for the support of her MCU faculty members and classmates; furthermore, receiving the award is the most unforgettable memory during her study in Taiwan.
