【869Enews】Important Notice about Examination Regulations

Mid-term examinations are coming next week from Monday, Nov 4 through Thursday, Nov 7. During the exams, students must obey all regulations. Breaching any of the rules will result in serious penalties. Before the examinations, students should check their exam schedules in the MCU Student Information Network. Print or note your individual exam schedule. Please be aware of the examination time, course subject, and the exact classroom in which you will be sitting each exam. Students should ensure they are in the right exam room and sitting in the assigned seat. Please do not enter the exam room 15 minutes after the first bell rings. And do not leave the exam room until at least 20 minutes after the first bell has rung. Violators will receive a “0” for the exam grade. If students realize that they are in the wrong exam room after receiving the exam paper, please do not leave the exam room. Please wait patiently for a proctor to escort you to the right exam room. When receiving the exam paper, please check if it is the right one for your class, course, and teacher. If not, students should raise a hand and the proctor will assist. Students must bring their student ID with them on exam days, or a temporary student identification card may be applied for at the Exam Center on campus. You must apply for a temporary ID before the beginning of the exam session. Cheating during exams is strictly prohibited. No papers should be in students’ pockets or on top of and below the desks; also, if there are words written on the desk, please erase them or report the situation to the proctor. During English/Japanese listening exams, students are not to take notes on their desktops. Students violating this rule will be penalized according to the University Regulations. Telecommunication equipment should not be used during the whole exam session; students must turn off their cell phones. Electronic equipment with memory function, or smart phones are not allowed in the exam room. If students violate this rule, they will be penalized with Demerit, Observation, or 2nd Level Expulsion. Students who encounter serious incidents during the exam week preventing them from taking any exam need to write a report to request a special leave. Without an approval of the report, semester grades will be deducted. Please be aware that there are no make-ups for midterm exams. Be on time or arrive at the examination rooms in advance so that you can be more prepared. Lastly, a reminder that Friday, Nov 8 is the make-up day for Sept 20th holiday, as that day was a flexible holiday for Moon Festival; therefore, classes will be in session. Wishing all students good grades on your mid-term exams!
